Puggles eyes are swollen and look very sore...?

Our 4 year old puggle stayed with a friend this week while we were away on vacation and around Wednesday, they called and said her eyes were swollen and red on the outside. We just got home yesterday and picked her up and there is some discharge and they are very swollen and look very sore. We wrapped her paws with adhesive bandage tape to help her from scratching at them and also put a cone on her. We have also been giving her some canine eye drops to help with irritation. I assume we should take her to the vet to get her some antibiotics, correct? How much do you think this will cost and are there any other remedies we can do for the time being to help her with the discomfort?
