Bellybutton piercing bandage?

I want to get my bellybutton pierced, but I'm wondering what i have to do afterwards. I've been trying to find information about the upkeep afterward, a friend of mine said the internet info makes piercings sound scary but they're not, and she never had problems with her piercings. What i really want to know is, what should I expect afterwards? Do I have to have a bandage on it for a while? Will it be red or sore or for how long? I know it must vary, but does anyone have experience with it that they can share? Thanks!
